Just a few hundred yards from the Holmes Foundry stood the Pemberton-Billing/Vickers-Supermarine works; where the Spitfire and Schneider Trophy aeroplanes were designed and built.The works were in business in HazelRoad during the same period as The Foundry in Wharf Road.
